Primary discipline

Machine Learning
Interpretable machine learning for detecting laser-weld defects from thermal camera images, using physics-motivated features and validation grouped by weld.

Optics & Photonics
A Python simulation study connecting SiN edge-coupler mode design, optical coupling, alignment tolerance and assembly yield.

Machine Learning
An end-to-end PostgreSQL and machine-learning workflow for prioritising future kidney-disease diagnoses in synthetic health records.

Analytics
A Power BI dashboard exploring US drug-shortage listings by therapeutic category, manufacturer and duration.
02 / Connected capabilities
Simulated optical coupling and assembly tolerance, complemented by thermal-image analysis of laser welds.
Data-processing workflows, numerical analysis, visualisation and practical scientific tools.
Feature engineering, model comparison, grouped or temporal evaluation and interpretable results.
SQL, pandas, Power BI and clear communication of analytical findings.
03 / About
My background is in optical engineering and biomedical research, including laser systems, microscopy, scientific instrumentation and experimental data analysis.
Alongside this work, I develop practical capabilities in scientific software, SQL and machine learning. I am particularly interested in problems where understanding the measurement, the underlying physics and the data all matter.
